guided hiking tours in Brixen in autumn

Guided hiking tours with our expert guides, who speak German and Italian.

Törggelen und wine
The "Törggelezeit" begins with the end of the grape harvest in October and ends with Advent. In between are leisurely walks through the golden autumn landscape and convivial moments in the traditional Buschenschänken.
On our hike we visit the Villscheiderhof winery above Brixen. We taste the new white wine of the season and get to know the winegrowers’ family who grow and cellar the grapes for their wine themselves. The hike continues to the Buschenschank Haidnerhof near Brixen. The hosts Franz Josef and Ingrid serve us typical Törggele-dishes. A glass of "new" wine or a grappa from the farm's own distillery is recommended to finish the refreshment.

Törggelen at first hand
The season of "Törggelen" is like a fifth season in Brixen and its surroundings. Together we take a look behind the scenes of this tradition: We get to know the origins of wine in Brixen and uncover the secrets of the Törggele cuisine.
We hike along the riverbank of Brixen to the Griesserhof winery, situated on a sunny hill. There we are welcomed by winegrower Paul, who lets us taste his wines in the historic wine cellar. We continue our hike along the Keschtnweg (chestnut trail) and stop at the Buschenschank Inn Burgerhof Meßner on a hill above Brixen. Together with organic winemaker and chef Johannes, we prepare original South Tyrolean dumplings and learn about his philosophy of sustainable farming.
